One of the most common misconceptions I encounter in my coaching practice is the belief that wanting financial freedom is somehow at odds with faith. Some people feel guilty for wanting more — more money, more time, more freedom. But I want to challenge that belief today with love and truth.
God does not call us to a life of lack. He calls us to abundance.
John 10:10 tells us that Jesus came so that we "may have life, and have it to the full." That fullness includes financial peace, the freedom to give generously, and the ability to care for your family and community without constant stress.
In my 26 years as a real estate professional and nearly a decade as a life coach, I have worked with hundreds of families navigating their financial journeys. What I have observed is this: the people who achieve lasting financial freedom are not just those with the best strategies — they are those who align their financial goals with their deeper values and their faith.
Here are three principles I share with my coaching clients:
1. Clarity precedes prosperity. You cannot build what you cannot see. Before you can create financial freedom, you need a clear, specific vision of what that looks like for you. How much do you need? What would you do with it? Who would you bless?
2. Your beliefs shape your results. If deep down you believe that money is hard to come by, or that you are not worthy of abundance, those beliefs will create your reality. This is not just positive thinking — it is the principle of sowing and reaping applied to our inner life.
3. Generosity is a seed, not a sacrifice. When we give from a place of faith and gratitude, we open ourselves to receive more. The most financially free people I know are also the most generous.
You were designed for a life of purpose, freedom, and joy. Financial freedom is not the goal — it is the vehicle that allows you to live out your purpose more fully.
